A(p)partment is a mobile application that explores art and technology through the projects of various contemporary artists. The exploration takes its form by the experiences that are presented to the user through a very private galaxy: her our own mobile phone.
A(p)partment delves into how technology actively takes part in art today. The different resources used by the artists to interact with the application gather the conventional and alternative ways of representing and creating art and, in doing so, create an environment for learning and entertainment.
A(p)partment tries to raise questions about how we think about art by exploiting the multimedia capabilities of interactive mobile applications.
A(p)partment is a curatorial project by Andrea Rodríguez Novoa and Veronica Valentini en collaboration with TuerCo, the app developers. The artist that take part in the project are participants of the "Premi Miquel Casablancas 2014" award organised by Sant Andreu Contemporani 2014.
